Presented on TCT2013 on 2D Edited Taped Case : Occlusion of ASD with Ceraflex Occluder : October 31

In the specific case of interventional vascular medicine, this video S3D will aim to present the actions of the surgeon, live imaging captured from fluoroscopy and heart model CG in their angiographic projection all in "relief".

Through this new 3D cinema technology, we hope to develop a teaching tool for medical students. They can not just "SEE" through these videos S3D the “Live Case” but also enhance the mental reconstruction necessary for the proper positioning of the catheter during the intervention.

This database of videos S3D, allow the analysis and development of new visualization techniques. We hope to show that the combination of volumetric reconstruction and stereoscopy to conventional angiographic images, may not only increase understanding o f complex spatial structures involved in the diagnosis, but also increase the ability to detect some structural abnormalities. We hope to contribute to reducing the learning time required for the future physician to make a decision, and therefore a diagnosis.

Building a database for recording video and their respective 3D models, all made with the techniques of 3D cinema will enable future cardiologists, a better approach and interpretation of the volume they will encounter during examinations catheterization. In addition, the 3D documentary will be a "product" for teaching medical schools.

In this presentation, we proposont a video where we will highlight how this new aproach may assist the surgeon in search of a better diagnostic.
